Hearing aid maintenance checklist

→ Clean the dome (rubber cap) every evening with a damp cloth to prevent blockages

→ For good sound quality, it is important to clean the microphone opening daily with a soft brush. Gently stroke the opening(s) to remove dirt.

→ If you have a rechargeable hearing aid, regularly clean the contacts of the hearing aid and the charger with special alcohol wipes.

→ Replace the filter at least once every two months. If your hearing deteriorates in the meantime, the filter can be replaced sooner.

→ For faster and more effective maintenance, we recommend using a cleaning kit . This contains tools that make replacing and cleaning parts a lot easier. The bellows, for example, prevents water from remaining in the hose, which can cause a complete blockage.

→ Do you have a hearing aid with a rubber tube? Clean it at least once a week by detaching it from the hearing aid. Insert the supplied black wire through the tube to remove any dirt. After cleaning, check whether there are any cracks or kinks in the tubes. Regularly inserting and removing the tube can cause it to wear out. If there is a kink, replace the tube.

→ Regularly test the battery with a battery tester so that you do not unexpectedly end up with an empty battery. Batteries last about 5 to 14 days. To extend the battery life as much as possible, open the battery drawer every night.

→ To prevent defects due to moisture, we recommend placing the hearing aid in a drying box at night. Perspiration can also cause moisture to enter the hearing aid. This can cause a cracking sound. A drying box also has a UV lamp that kills 99% of bacteria and thus reduces the risk of infections.

Frequently Asked Questions

“My hearing has deteriorated after cleaning the earmold”

During cleaning, the earpieces may have been swapped between the left and right sides. Swap the earpieces or check the marking. Right is red, left is blue.

"There is no sound coming out of my speaker anymore"

Often the filter of the speaker is clogged or defective. Try cleaning it first. If this does not solve the problem, replace the filter with a new one. If this does not solve the problem, the speaker may be defective. The speaker has a 1-year warranty. If the speaker is still under warranty, check our website for the return process. No longer under warranty? Then order a new speaker via our webshop .

“After cleaning my hearing aid, it no longer works”

Find out where the problem is coming from by separating the earmold and the hearing aid. Place the hearing aid (without the earmold) in the palm of your hand and fold your hand slightly. If you hear the hearing aid beeping or whistling, this is due to the earmold. It is probably clogged. Clean the earmold again to solve the problem. If this is not the case, there may be a problem with the battery. Check the battery with a battery tester. The problem may also be in the tubing. Blow the tubing and possibly the channels of the earmold dry.

If it concerns a Phonak hearing aid and the above tips did not help, you can also reset the device. There is a push button on the bottom of the hearing aid (usually on the back). Hold this button for 15 seconds. Place the hearing aid in the charger and wait until the light flashes green. The hearing aid is now ready for use.
